BOISCH Consulting provides potential solutions that clients can implement in their daily business routine.  We can be the "go to" for employees when they have specific questions about how to initiate certain types of analysis or determining inputs to analysis and how to go about collecting such data.

Our consultants can help you to optimize the following basic supply chain flows:

  • Physical materials and services - from supliers through the intermediate entities that transform them into consumable items for distribution to the final customer.
  • Information - back and forth along the chain.
  • Reverse -  products returned for repairs, recycling or disposal.

We can also help you to identify process improvement opportunities (using tools like process mapping and root cause analysis) and then implement one or more of the following continuous improvement methods:

  • Just-in-Time (JIT)
  • Six Sigma
  • Lean manufacturing

Our Demand Planning and Logistics specialists can help you implement or refine the following supply chain activities:

  • Forecasting
  • Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)
  • Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
  • Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Capacity Management
  • Inventory Management
  • Disaster Recovery Planning

The opportunities for supply chain improvement are numerous and company / industry specific, but some specific examples of projects we have helped clients with in the past include:

  • Creation of statistical forecasts based on historical data using techniques including moving averages, weighted moving averages, exponential smoothing and seasonal indexes.
  • Inventory management via ABC analysis and production batch size review.  Help drive efficient inventory management practices by focusing the organization on the 20% of the items that make up 80% of the dollar value.  Then determine how much coverage you will carry on A, B and C sku's and how often you plan to run these products on the manufacturing lines.  Finally, hi-light opportunities for catalog management and SKU rationalization.
  • Product risk analysis involving review of out-of-stock risks based on the current demand and scheduled factory production.  Often times this is very difficult to anticipate but it is essential to communicate these risks to Sales and Marketing so that either alternative products could be offered to the customer, accounts can be prioritized or special promotions / pricing can be offered on other products to divert customers from ordering more on the "low" or out-of-stock sku in the near term.

BOISCH Consulting also has expertise in ERP implementation and optimization of ERP functionality.  In preparation for an ERP implementation, our consultants can assist you with:

  • Gap analysis and development of new work processes
  • Data cleansing, mapping and validation
  • Functionality testing
  • End user training and support

Finally, let us help you develop a Balanced Scorecard that will assess the reliability, responsiveness and flexibility of your supply chain, while also tracking operational costs and asset management.  Our consultants can also help you to set realistic goals for each key performance indicator (KPI),perform gap analysis and create action plans to obtain those goals.
